    A. Yes, you can. Please schedule an appointment in advance. Our kennel is located in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, and the detailed address is available on the homepage. Online visits via apps like Zoom are also possible.
  • Q. Why is there a price difference for the puppies?
    A. The price differences at our kennel are based on coat color, age, and the presence of any defects. Additionally, the price may vary depending on the grade of the puppy.
  • Q. Can I visit the puppies and their parents?

  • Q. Do I need to have a crate?
    A. Shiba Inu like confined spaces, so it’s better to have one. It also limits their territory to the crate, which helps prevent excessive barking.
  • Q. I'm worried about whether the new puppy will get along with my existing dog.
    A. If your existing dog has no issues interacting with other people and dogs, they will likely get along. Generally, dogs of the opposite sex tend to get along better. Dogs can be jealous creatures. If you pay too much attention to the new puppy, your existing dog may become jealous. Prioritize the care of your existing dog to reduce jealousy and build a harmonious relationship.
  • Q. What should I prepare before bringing a puppy home?
    A. For indoor care, you will need: A playpen A crate or carrier Pet pads (newspapers can be used as a substitute) Food and water dishes These are the main items you'll need. As the puppy grows, you will also need: A brush (for the bi-annual shedding period and daily brushing) A collar, leash, and harness (a leash is easier for training) Shampoo (if you plan to bathe the puppy at home)
  • Q. Is it true that spaying/neutering extends a dog's lifespan?
    A. Over 60% of deaths in dogs are due to cancer and heart disease. This is because vaccines have become common, significantly reducing deaths from infectious diseases. Older dogs are more likely to develop reproductive and mammary cancers. Spaying/neutering reduces the risk of these cancers. According to the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, spaying a female dog before her first heat cycle reduces the chance of developing mammary cancer to 1 in 200, after the first heat cycle to 1 in 12.5, and after the second heat cycle to 1 in 3.8. This reduces the risk of cancer, leading to longer lifespans for spayed/neutered dogs.
  • Q. How much does a puppy smell? How often should I bathe them?
    A. Sensitive people might notice a smell, but generally, Shiba Inu do not have a strong body odor. Shiba Inu have sensitive skin, so it’s better not to bathe them too often. Bathing once a month should be sufficient.

    A. Shiba Inu are smart dogs, so if you properly set up a designated toilet area, they usually learn quickly. Initially, observe your puppy closely and take them to the toilet when they seem ready to go. They dislike soiling their sleeping area, so keep their bed and toilet separate. Feel free to consult us about toilet training.
  • Q. I often leave the house. Can I still get a puppy?
    A. Puppies spend most of their time sleeping, usually about 14-17 hours a day. If you can cherish the time you spend together, it should be fine. Make sure the puppy has enough water and maintains an appropriate temperature while you’re away. For overnight trips, consider asking a friend or using a pet hotel.
  • Q. Which is easier to raise, a male or a female puppy?
    A. Generally, female puppies are said to be more docile and easier to raise. However, each puppy has its own personality, so it’s not always the case. How you raise them has a bigger impact. Female dogs will eventually go into heat, which requires care. Some male dogs lift their legs to urinate, which also requires management. These behaviors can often be prevented by spaying or neutering.
